Could It Be I’m Falling In Love serves as an introduction to Owens’ upcoming LP “Golden Moments.” It marks the first time that he, Caputo, Clarke, and Randazzo, all of whom have known each other for years in the Richmond/Charlotesville music scene, appear on record together. Clearly, the wait was worth it. Owens and company have put together an album brimming with an infectious passion. You may know the songs they’re playing, a selection of classics from across the twentieth century, but you’ve never heard them like this.

“It’s an emotional investment, this record. It really takes you on an emotional ride,” says Owens. “I want people to have a relationship with my records, like I have a relationship with other records. You know how, when you wanna feel a certain way, you put on a record that is gonna take you to that spot? I want that for my records so much. So I try to balance playing my saxophone shit with also just trying to play beautifully, make it a beautiful emotional experience for people.”
